about

“Loving Hands" is about the magic that a person feels when first being exposed to, and embraced as a credible performer in a music festival - and how it feels to be surrounded by people who are equally creative, and willing to teach others how to be better artists. In particular, the song pays tribute to the festivals (Moccasin Creek & Summer Sundown) put on by Poss Music Works out at Lake Sara in Effingham, IL. Steele started performing as a solo artist at Moccasin Creek Festival when she was 18 years old. This song will take you for a ride through different memories of the narrator. The goal is to place you back in the small patch of woods where so much music has been shared - through the eyes of the audience as well as through the eyes of the performer. It highlights a sacred sort of unexplainable feeling from finding your creative “tribe” that you can gain inspiration from as well as inspire in return. We hope that anyone who has witnessed the beautiful world that can be a music festival will relate to what it’s like to find a spiritual family and to have felt the impact of the “loving hands” Steele refers to in the chorus. In the context of this album, please take it as our way of saying how much we miss all that. We are certain that we will all get the chance to sing “I Shall Be Released” together again.
